Something special from the honey harvest

Before honey is ready to harvest, bees seal it beneath a fine layer of fresh wax. These delicate seals are known as cappings.

We use ultra-pure cappings beeswax in Hedgerows & Honey. It gives the balm its structure and helps leave a protective layer on your lips, holding on to moisture and keeping them feeling soft.

It’s an ingredient with a purpose, and a direct connection to the beekeeping at the heart of our family business.

Quality you can feel

Organic, cold-pressed golden jojoba and castor oils sit alongside rich shea and cocoa butters. Together, they give the balm a smooth glide and a comforting feel on the lips.

We make each batch by hand in Brighton, balancing the firmness of the wax with the softness of the oils and butters. The result is a concentrated, water-free balm that softens as you apply it. A thin layer is all you need.

Our organic, cold-pressed golden jojoba is the largest ingredient in the blend. It helps the balm spread evenly and leaves lips feeling soft and conditioned.

Cappings beeswax

Protection from the hive.

Ultra-pure cappings beeswax gives the balm its firm consistency. On the lips, it helps form a protective layer that reduces moisture loss.

Shea butter

Rich, comforting care.

Shea butter adds richness and helps soften dry-feeling lips. It gives the blend much of its substantial, cushioning feel.

Castor oil

Body and a gentle sheen.

Organic, cold-pressed castor oil adds body and a gentle sheen. Its thick texture helps the balm stay on the lips, contributing to that comfortable, coated feel.

Cocoa butter

Firm in the tin. Soft on your lips.

Cocoa butter brings structure to the blend and softens with warmth. It adds richness during application and helps keep lips feeling supple.

Sunflower oil is the carrier for our vitamin E. Present in a small amount, it also contributes skin-softening properties.
